Current Probe
Configuration and Best Applications
The following lists the instrument capabilities with the default probes. All instruments are
capable of various experiments but please follow the following preferences as
the first choices for best sensitivity and applications. Please consult staff for
non-standard experiments and applications.
1H
- All instruments
- Varian 600 and Bruker 500 carry the highest 1H sensitivity.
19F
- Use Agilent 400, Bruker 400 or 500 with autotuning.
19F with 1H decoupling, vice versa
Direct 13C Detection
- All instruments except Varian 600
- Bruker 500 has the highest sensitivity due to the cold probe.
- Varian 500 is tuned to 13C by default. All others require auto-tuning.
31P
- Use Bruker 500, Bruker 400 or Agilent 400 and autotuning.
All Other X Nuclei
- Use Bruker 500, Bruker 400 or Agilent 400 and autotuning.
2D Experiments (HSQC, HMBC, COSY, NOESY ... etc.)
VT Experiments
- Contact staff for your specific needs unless you've been trained to do so by
yourself
